This program provides participants with practical, hands-on experience with Ford Motor Company's 8D systematic process for resolving complex "cause unknown" situations. The process presented is composed of eight systematic disciplines in which decision analysis, problem-definition, and problem prevention techniques are featured, and the application of tools such as statistical process control and design of experiments are discussed. When correctly followed, the process helps to facilitate a timely and permanent resolution to a problem.
This course emphasizes the utilization of cross-functional teams, provides guidelines for the appropriate composition of those teams and suggests governance process in ensuring proper and effective 8D is being done in respective organization.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe the purpose of the 8D process.
Follow the 8D steps and complete the 8D report form properly.
Describe tools available for use in the 8D process.
Identify the real root cause(s) of the problem & permanently preventing the problem from recurring.
Formulate an effective 8D Governance Process for respective organization to ensure good quality 8D report.
Note: This course includes enhanced 8D by incorporating Drill Deep & Wide analysis into the original Ford Motor 8D.
