APQP is a tool to monitor the new product and process design and development that starts with a concept, and ends with product and process validation. Whereas, PPAP to determine and ensure all customers engineering design record and specification requirements are properly understood by supplier and that the processes have potential to produce product meeting these requirements during an actual production run at quoted production rate.
