The ability to solve problems and make rational decisions is the fundamental excellence of every successful leader. In leading a successful team to solve problems, Engineers and Quality Assurance (QA) staff first need to appraise where they stand (situational analysis), what the problem really is (define the problem correctly), find the true cause of the problem (analytical thinking) before any decisions or solutions (creative thinking) can be proposed.
